Recreational baseball · ages 13–16
The Core Baseball League is the natural recreational step after Little League: keep playing for the enjoyment of the game without a full travel schedule. Games stay local, mostly within Fairfield County.
- Spring: mostly weekend games, so players can also join the Middle School Baseball League.
- Summer: weekend games plus more weeknight games, with travel staying local.
Middle School Baseball League
Fun, playing with friends and trying different positions. Open to all middle school-aged players, including 13U and 14U travel players. Games are in Stamford against other Stamford teams.
- About eight weeks in spring, with games on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings.
- About eight games, then a short single-elimination playoff.
- The season ends before Memorial Day weekend.
15U–18U paths
16U Thunder
A professionally coached showcase team for high school players who want to play college baseball: showcase events, competitive tournaments and the Babe Ruth 16U trail. Past events include Villanova, a Perfect Game event at the University of Hartford, UConn, Diamond Nation and CT Sportsplex.
15U/16U travel
Competitive baseball without a showcase trip every weekend, focused on GHVBL play with a possible tournament.
18U Thunder
Stamford's tradition: players ages 16–18 in GHVBL games, selected tournaments and the Babe Ruth 16–18U trail. Stamford has won four of the last five New England Regionals, with World Series trips to Ephrata, Washington; Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Ocala, Florida. The 2027 World Series is planned for Branson, Missouri.
Recreational leagues don't need a tryout. Core League and Middle School League signups are expected to open in December 2026.
